Tek-Rap, Inc. was founded in 1979 producing the worlds first and only co-extruded polyethylene/butyl rubber coating system.
TEK-RAP, INC. manufactures a series of coating systems, which are used to protect the exterior of pipelines and fittings against corrosion. The system is applied by spiral wrapping over a coated steel (pipe) surface. The surface is first cleaned and sandblasted to remove all scale and rust. The TEKRAP liquid adhesive coating is then applied by spray, brush, rag or roller to a thickness of 3 to 5 mils wet. The liquid adhesive is then allowed to dry to a tacky but not wet coating. A dry finish of approximately 1 to 3 mils.
All of TEK-RAP, INC.’S products are co-extruded in manufacturing. TEK-RAP’S co-extrusion process is a chemical formulation that creates a molecular bonding between the polyethylene and butyl rubber, resulting in a single-element coating whose bonded elements can never be delaminated. This results in a coating system with the highest degree of inner cohesive strength. The TEK-RAP, INC. system meets or exceeds the requirements of AWWA C214 & C209, ANSI, ASTM, API, NACE, NAPCA, and other International Standards. All products are monitored by trained technical personnel to insure quality and uniformity. |
